"Arab is a Blogger flag word"

Blogger’s homeland-security-esque SPAM control

I’ve been blogging for two years now. My main blog is called ‘Critique Away’ and it mainly deals with work that I have been doing pursuing my Master of Science Thesis in Communication Design.

While serving as a teacher assistant for professor Klinkowstein’s Digital design class I published another blog called ‘Digital Design.

About 3 days ago after blogging about CitiGroup’s Wachovia purchase, written from an Arab-American perspective I decided to publish another blog that mainly deals with that topic.

Since I am an Arab-American and my opinions are influenced by both cultures I tend to look at the ‘news’ from that perspective. The new blog is titled ‘News From an Arab-American Perspective’.

A couple of days later I received an email from blogger stating that my new blog has been identified as SPAM and will be deleted in 20 days if I don’t take action.

Above is a screen-shot of that e-mail. It made me laugh. Why would they think that this site is SPAM? Moreover, if they read my fucking posts they would know that I like to talk about Arab-American issues; specifically ones dealing with profiling, stereotyping, and suspicious treatment.

Does this qualify as suspicious treatment? Blocking the viewing of this empty blog? It’s also ironic that blogger’s ‘automated classifier’ inadvertently gave me material for the first post in this blog. Thank you Blogger!
