About Tarek Fahmy
I graduated the School of Visual Arts in 1999 with a BFA degree in painting / multimedia. I worked with an art’s collective and exhibited widely in NYC.
In 2001, I started to do contract web and graphic design work. After three years of honing my craft, I landed a web design teaching position at GT-Solutions, NYC. I continued to do contract work.
In 2006, I enrolled at Pratt Institute’s prestigious Communications Design graduate program. In June of 2009, I Graduated with a Master of Science degree, majoring in Communications Design.
Pratt gave me the guidance, confidence, and experience designing for screen and print. The projects stressed all aspects of creative direction and design: research, writing, sketching, conceptualizing, Identity, branding, aesthetics, critique, as well as preparing and conducting presentations and proposals.
My freelance web and print experience, my NYC based education, as well as my teaching know how have prepared me to take on varied ‘design’ projects that require an adaptable and skillful designer.
